TUI ALLIED HEALTH

Rongoā Māori

Healing through connection, tradition, and aroha.

Rongoā Māori is a holistic healing practice grounded in mātauranga Māori (traditional knowledge) and deep connection to the natural environment. Passed down through generations, rongoā has long been a cornerstone of wellbeing for whānau Māori — and today, it is a pathway to healing that supports all New Zealanders.

Practices may include mirimiri and romiromi (bodywork), rongoā rākau (plant-based remedies), mahi wairua (spiritual support), kōrero (talking therapy), and strengthening of connection to whakapapa and te taiao.

Our Rongoā Māori service

At Tui Allied Health, we offer kaupapa Māori options co-designed by and with Māori practitioners. These services are available to anyone seeking healing and are recognised by ACC as part of social rehabilitation support for covered injuries. These approaches nurture physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
